The True Runner Half Marathon program can be catered to someone attempting the distance for the first time, as well as someone who has completed the distance and is looking to improve on their performance. It is great for anyone looking to train with a group and receive expert training advice and moral support all along the way.
If you are considering the half marathon program you currently should be able to:
- Complete a run of at least 3-5 miles
The 12-week program will help to increase your running volume, improve speed and focus on proper running techniques through personalized coaching and group encouragement. By the end of the program you will be prepared for a half marathon.
The program offers the opportunity for two supervised runs per week; a mid-week track based workout and a Saturday morning long run. Participants are encouraged to attend all weekly supervised workouts although you always have the option to train on your own if that is what your personal schedule permits. We recommend that you attend as often as possible to get the benefit of the group setting and the coaching of our staff.
Outside of the two supervised days, the program provides guidance on supplemental running and alternative workouts. Active warm-up and proper running form will be discussed. Any questions that you have at any point in the program can be directed to our training program staff via email and you will receive a swift reply.
